The Carolina Beach Lake dredging project is moving forward.

– Project has been on hold for several months.

– Hold was due to concerns on where to dump the dredging materials.

– Project could cost $2.5 million.

The move comes nearly nine months after the project stopped due to concerns over where the dredging material was dumped.

Now, town leaders hope to get approval from the Coast Guard to dump the dredged material on five acres of land owned by the town off Carolina Beach Road near the Beau Rivage neighborhood.

Town officials say the project could cost up to $2.5 million.

Work is expected to begin in December and last through June of next year.
