Bullzdozers head south toward the St. Lucie Inlet on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at Bathtub Reef Beach in Martin County. The county project that began in late February is addressing erosion impacts and navigability of the inlet for boaters.

Dredging equipment is seen in the Indian River Lagoon on Saturday, March 19, 2022, in Martin County. Beaches at the St. Lucie Inlet Preserve State Park will get the 475,000 cubic yards of dredged sand sucked up from the inlet floor to mitigate erosion impacts.
