Bald Head Island’s beach restoration/groin field replacement project is almost complete, village officials report. The Coastal Storm Damage Reduction project involved the dredging of beach-quality sand from Jay Bird Shoals for placement at South Beach. As part of the project, 13 soft sand tubes were replaced.
