The Government of Andhra Pradesh and the Centre have entered into two separate Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) to set up a dredging harbour at Antharvedi in East Godavari district and for water transport between Kakinada and Puducherry.
The MoUs were signed in the presence of Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari and AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at Mumbai on Thursday. In the first phase as part of the agreement, Rs 460 crore is expected to be spent. The state government would provide 200 acres for the proposed harbour.
