Dredging at the Ukrainian port of Belgorod-Dnestrovsky has reached 800,000 cbm this year. The works have been performed by the equipment of Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA) and its specialized contractor, USPA says.
Vessels of up to 3.10 m in draught can now call the port.
The port of Belgorod-Dnestrovsky was set up in 1971. It is located in the south-eastern part of the Odessa Region, 20 km from the Black Sea, on the right bank of the Dnestrovsky Liman. Dnestrovsky Liman is 42 km long and 4.5 to 12 km wide. The Dnestrovsky Liman is connected with the Black Sea by a strait. Vessels enter the port by a 2.22 km wide seaway channel and a 14.5 km long Limansky channel. The approach channel is 4.5 meters deep.
