Dredge Likely to Remain in Corson’s Inlet through May, Officials Say

Officials said that the dredge pumping sand onto Strathmere, Sea Isle City, and Ocean City beaches will probably be in Corson’s Inlet through May.

Township engineer Paul Dietrich said last week that the beach replenishment project in Strathmere is complete, and that sand will be pumped from Corson’s Inlet to Sea Isle City beaches for the next 10 to 14 days.

The dredge will then pump sand onto beaches in south Ocean City for 20 to 20 days, Dietrich said at the April 11 Upper Township Committee meeting. Those numbers depend on the weather, he said.
