DPWH finishes anti-flood project in Bataan townThe Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) reported on Tuesday the completion of an anti-flood infrastructure in Hermosa town, Bataan province.
The P48.9 million riverbank protection, located in Barangay Cataning, involved the construction of 400 linear meters of concrete slope protection along the Hermosa River.
“The undertaking aims to strengthen the stability of the riverbank system and erosion control causing siltation by maintaining the large capacity of water flowing along the channel,” the agency said.
Aside from protecting residents, the DPWH said the project will also protect their livelihood.
“This project will improve water flow by keeping the river channel clear and preventing blockages caused by eroded materials, thereby protecting nearby residences and farmlands from being destroyed,” it said.
