The Dorena-Hickman Ferry is western Kentucky is closing Friday for dredging operations and will be evaluated on a day-by-day basis.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says the dredge is expected to be in the harbor for a couple of weeks. The ferry captain, Jeremy Newsom, says he hopes the ferry will only be closed a couple of days as the dredge works near the mouth of the harbor.
