DEME has opened a new office in Bremen that will serve as headquarters for the company’s operations in Germany.
The Belgian dredging, environmental and marine engineering group is consolidating all its German activities in the northern city since last year, it said. The office currently employs about 100 people.
They will play a major role in the construction of the 396MW Merkur, 497MW Hohe See and 448MW Borkum Riffgrund 2 offshore wind farms, DEME said.
“Bremen, a leading hub for the marine and offshore wind industry in north Germany, is the ideal base from which to strengthen relationships with German customers and suppliers, offering local expertise and market knowledge,” DEME general manager for Germany Christopher Iwens said.
“The offshore wind energy market offers many opportunities and growth potential for DEME Group.”
