Delray Beach has been named the beach with the bluest and clearest water in the Southeast, according to a new study by beach.com. Out of 1,346 beaches in Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas, Delray Beach earned the top spot, setting it apart as a premier destination for residents and visitors alike.
The study analyzed five years of satellite data to evaluate water clarity and color, focusing on factors such as low chlorophyll-a levels (the green pigment in algae and plants) and the amount of blue light reflected from the water’s surface. From this research, 39 beaches were identified for their notably clear and blue waters—Delray Public Beach ranked number one in both categories.
