The clock has started on a study that Port Authority officials hope will conclude with funding and a plan to increase the depth of New Haven Harbor to accomodate larger and more heavily loaded vessels.
The authority this week entered into an agreement with the state for $1.5 million that constitutes the local share of an Army Corps of Engineers Deep Draft Navigation Improvement Study.
