Debris Removal From Lake Seminole Small Boat Canals

Posted on December 7, 2022

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, Lake Seminole Project, will be conducting removal of woody debris, such as downed and submersed trees within certain areas of the small boat canals on Lake Seminole. The debris to be removed was a result of storm impacts from Hurricane Michael in 2018. Work is expected to begin on Dec. 7, 2022 and estimated to be completed by the end of January 2023.

Areas to be cleared are indicated on the attached maps. The contractor will be using amphibious excavators to carry out the work. While the contractor is working in each area, there will be vessels on each end of the work zone to notify and control boating traffic. All boaters are advised to use extreme caution when navigating through the work zone. Please be patient and take all directions from the control vessels.
