DE Klop BV, as part of Dutch Dredging Simulators, Enhance Maritime Education by the development of 5 advanced dredging simulators
The O&O-fund Waterbouw is making a major leap in modernizing maritime education by investing in five advanced dredging simulators. This innovative technology, developed by Dutch Dredging Simulators (DDS) – a collaboration between Controllab Projects, De Klop BV, and MSA-Service – provides students with a realistic and safe way to gain hands-on experience.
Where will the simulators be located?
– STC Rotterdam – 1 mobile & 3 fixed dredging simulators
– Nova College – 1 fixed dredging simulator (IJmuiden/Beverwijk)
– Nationwide access – Maritime schools across the Netherlands can use the mobile simulator via STC
“This investment takes our maritime education to the next level,” says Hans Boele, Director of MBO College STC. “Students not only develop technical skills but also the insight and decision-making abilities essential in the modern dredging industry.”
With this strategic investment, hands-on maritime education becomes more accessible than ever. The first simulator will be delivered before the summer break, and all simulators will be operational from the 2025/2026 school year!
