DCI Bags Mumbai Port Contract

Dredging Corporation of India (DCI) Limited has bagged the contract of ‘maintenance dredging’ of Mumbai Port Trust. According to an official press release from the mini-ratna dredging PSU here on Tuesday, DCI had participated in a tender invited by Mumbai Port Trust (MbPT) for ‘maintenance dredging’ work for three years from 2017-18.

The project involves dredging of around 11 million cum at an estimated cost of ? 141.06 crore for 3 years. DCI stood L1 in a stiff competition among international companies and quoted a cost of ? 83.99 crore.

Mumbai Port Trust is expected to issue the work order soon. DCI had re-taken the maintenance dredging work at Mumbai Port after almost a decade.
