On March 18, Dare County released this estimated timetable for the 2022 beach nourishment projects that will take place in five of the county’s towns and several unincorporated villages.
In doing so, the county also noted that “The estimated start dates that have been announced are tentative and remain subject to change due to a variety of factors, including weather conditions, mechanical equipment issues and other variables.”
The release also stated that “It is important to note that staging of equipment will take place before construction of the beach begins. During this equipment staging process, contractors will begin placing the distribution pipeline along the beach and putting heavy equipment —such as bulldozers, loaders and excavators — into place.
