Damen yards, Damen vessels

Posted on March 5, 2025

All Damen Maritime Solution vessels are constructed at a Damen Workboats yard. They are highly experienced in standardised vessel production and dedicated to implementing sustainability in all their operations. Each yard is on its own sustainability journey, given that each operates within its location’s regulatory landscape and geographical context. However, they are all motivated to work towards continuous improvement so as to be the most sustainable maritime solutions providers in the world.

Damen Song Cam Shipyard (DSCS) is a leader in sustainable operations within the Damen Group. Specialising in workboats production, the yard is ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 certified and has been audited against a stringent ESG framework with no major non-conformities. Regardless, DSCS is eager to continue on its sustainability journey and to expand its focus on optimizing its environmental and social impacts, including health and safety, and innovation.

DSCS has a strong relationship with the local community of Song Cam. All its employees are hired from across the region as well as the local commune, and it contributes to local economic growth by creating employment opportunities. Partnerships with local educational institutions enable young talent to gain hands-on experience in shipbuilding and allow them to explore a career in this sector. The availability of leadership and development programmes ensure that all DSCS employees have equal opportunities to excel and advance their careers.

Damen Shipyards Antalya (DSAn) is a dedicated composites facility that specialises in building high speed workboats and yacht support vessels. The Hybrid Waterbus 2907 vessels were also constructed in Damen Antalya. The yard’s way of working is aligned with the rest of the Damen Group and it implements management systems and processes that ensure business integrity and efficiency. These are evidenced through ISO certifications guaranteeing standardisation, quality and a high regard for efficiency and safety.

DSAn actively engages in an expanding its portfolio of 34 sustainability initiatives tied to the SDGs. These initiatives contribute to diverse aspects of the business, such as enhancing worker well-being, fostering local economic growth, implementing effective waste management practices and improving energy efficiency.

Employees at the yard are paid a living wage which surpasses the government’s mandated minimum wages, ensuring that our employees achieve a decent standard of living which is closely monitored to appropriately address changes in hyperinflation. Employees in both the production hall and offices are equipped and able to submit issues for review, anonymously if desired, contributing to a safe working environment for all.

Environmental management is strong in DSAn. Monthly reports highlight electricity consumption, waste management, and noise and air quality to establish a baseline and support planning on how to improve. ESG audits further help with continuous improvement, and the yard is eager and determined to excel in sustainable operations.
