The first pin pile for the Fengmiao 1 offshore windfarm in Taiwan has been installed by CSBC-DEME Wind Engineering’s installation vessel Green Jade

All 99 pin piles required for the project have been manufactured by local suppliers, Century Huaxin Wind Energy and CTCI MAC.

Transport and installation are being executed by CSBC-DEME Wind Engineering using the Taiwanese-built installation vessel.

Fengmiao 1 is being developed by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) and is due to be completed in 2028. CIP, through its flagship fund CI V, reached financial close on the 495-MW Fengmiao I project in 2025.

The windfarm is being built in the Taiwan Strait, 35-36 km off the coast of Taichung City. The windfarm will use 33 Vestas V236-15.0 MW turbines, which is the first use of the wind turbine in Taiwan.

Six local and international corporations have already entered into long-term power purchase agreements for Fengmiao I’s entire capacity.
