CAROLINA BEACH, N.C. – Crews are starting to mobilize on beaches in Carolina Beach for the town’s Coastal Storm Risk Management (CSRM) dredging project.

Norfolk Dredging, hired by the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) for the project, will begin mobilization at Freeman Park.

Officials will hold a public meeting with the USACE in the coming weeks to review the scope and timeline of the project.

“As in years past, the USACE and the Town will be posting daily updates on the location of the activities as Norfolk Dredging works its way down the beach,” officials wrote on the town’s Facebook page.

The CSRM project aims to reduce the risk to infrastructure along the coast from storms.
