The Council for Dredging and Marine Construction Safety will follow the guidance of the NTSB’s recommendations and take the following actions.

  1. Institute greater collaboration between pipeline and dredging companies
  2. Improve project boundary pre-marking methods
  3. Develop additional safety checklists to include pipeline safety topics
  4. Develop a training video for pipeline safety

The CDMCS is committed to the safety of the marine and construction industry.  Working with our industry and government partners, the CDMCS will continue to collaborate will all of its members to develop risk assessment formats and action plans for the prevention of accidents and the safety of our crews.

DredgeWire commends the industry and its associations for embracing these opportunities for change and improvement.
