The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Portland is seeking comments on an application for a permit that would allow dredging in waters along the Columbia River.
The Port of Ilwaco has applied for a 10 year permit to maintain dredging to remove accumulated sediments and restore draft depths within the Ilwaco boat basin, according to a press release from the Corps. The project is aimed at the north shoreline of Baker Bay, adjacent to the Port of Ilwaco, Waterfront Way and Outer Harbor Way.
The Corps is soliciting comments on this proposal from the public, federal, state and local agencies, Indian tribes and other interested parties. Comments must be received by Jan. 25.
