The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers gathered public comment during the spring on a document related to a proposal to significantly deepen the ship channel in Port Aransas and extend it further into the Gulf of Mexico than it is now. The document was the Final Environmental Impact Statement on the Port of Corpus Christi’s proposed Channel Deepening Project.
