Clair Slaughter and her mother, Amy, stand inside their flood-damaged home, with the flood line seen on the wall to the right, as they rebuild, on Thursday, June 28, 2018, in Kingwood. The Slaughters are in favor of a project to dredge a large sandbar in the San Jacinto River, to help alleviate flooding in Kingwood. They are still recovering from the floodwaters from Hurricane Harvey, where they had 52 inches of water inside their home.
