A hefty fine issued to a company which admitted illegal dumping off the coast of Cornwall does not go far enough, environmental campaigners have said.
Westminster Dredging Ltd was ordered to pay a total of more than £43,500, including costs, when it appealed at Plymouth Magistrates Court over its activities in Whitsand Bay.
The company admitted one charge of breaching its licence to dispose of material dredged from Devonport shipyard in Plymouth in the case brought by the Marine Management Organisation. (MMO)
