The city plans to correct the Animas River’s flow upstream of the Durango Whitewater Park near Santa Rita Park to ensure the river continues to flow by the city intake pumps. The Animas River is shifting away from city intake pumps near Santa Rita Park, so the city is planning to build rock weirs to safeguard the city’s water supply.
