China has launched “Xin Hai Jing,” the country’s first homegrown ultra-large, self-propelled trailing suction hopper dredger with a distributed pump room. This 25,000-cubic-meter-class vessel works without tugboats and features a proprietary smart monitoring platform. Delivery is scheduled for the second half of the year.
