Cheryl Creuzot appointed to Port of Houston Authority board

Cheryl Creuzot will be the first African-American woman to serve on the Port Commission of the Port of Houston Authority, according to a news release from the city of Houston.

Mayor Sylvester Turner and the Houston City Council voted Wednesday to approve the nomination of Creuzot, who is a business and civic leader. She will be the first African-American female port commissioner in the nearly 116-year history once she is sworn in.
