Chantier Davie Canada this week signed an agreement with Construction Dinamo, a Québec construction company, to deliver construction and supervision services for key sub-projects within a major upgrade of Davie’s Lévis shipyard.

The contract is related to Davie’s recent decision to modify its construction strategy to better meet National Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS) requirements and respond to the Icebreaker Collaboration Effort (ICE Pact) opportunity.

Davie also signed an agreement with Pearlson and Pearlson to transform the Lévis facility into North America’s most advanced shipbuilding centre.

Canada’s NSS is an agreement focused on the construction of the largest and most technologically advanced ships ever built in Canada. The initial CA$8.5 billion (US$6.0 billion) contract covers seven heavy icebreakers and two large hybrid ferries.

”Davie’s redevelopment plan, supported by the new construction strategy, includes the construction of six state-of-the-art buildings, modernization of existing structures, significant waterfront upgrades, and the installation of advanced technologies,” noted James Davies, President and CEO of Davie.

“Dinamo will oversee critical construction elements of this initiative, ensuring rapid and efficient delivery of Canada’s new ship fleet.”
