Central Dredging Association – CEDA acts as a living network for the dredging sector—bringing together diverse voices, disciplines, and generations. As an independent platform, CEDA cultivates knowledge exchange, collaboration, and continuous learning, enabling the sector to evolve with insight, responsibility, and shared purpose.
HAEDES is grateful to be part of this ecosystem. Our colleagues Barbara Proença Proenca and Renaat De Sutter actively contribute to the Environmental Commission, helping to weave environmental intelligence and systems thinking into the heart of dredging practice.
During the recent Annual New Year Reception at the Port House, one of Antwerp’s architectural jewels, Renaat De Sutter was invited to step into the role of Chair of the Belgian Section of CEDA—a role he accepted with humility and pride, as a form of stewardship within this community.
We extends our sincere gratitude to the Board of CEDA Belgium and all members for their trust. We also wish to warmly acknowledge Jos Smits, who, after 10 years as Chair, passes on a legacy of commitment and leadership that has shaped the Belgian dredging sector.
Such continuity reminds us that progress grows from those who tend the system with care over time.
