Henrich Röper will talk about the licensing procedure for the relocation of dredged material to the German Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ): navigating the regulatory zoo. He will discuss an application to relocate dredged material into the German EEZ faces extensive legal, ecological, and political challenges, including conflicting stakeholder demands, strict EU requirements, and unprecedented compensation measures such as constructing an oyster reef, illustrating today’s complex regulatory landscape.
