Caterpillar Marine appointed Alex Berg global head of pleasure craft and yachting. The company announced in a statement that it also instituted an industry development team to focus on key segments of the marine business.
Berg will help strengthen customer relationships while providing deeper yachting segment expertise to Caterpillar Marine. He has more than 20 years of international and cross-functional experience in the marine industry.
“As the yachting segment continues to transform, we must deliver a premium end-to-end customer experience across all stakeholders, from early design stage to customer service,” Berg said. “In addition to core products, this includes the seamless integration of our products into the wider technical ecosystem on board, data-based remote service offerings and supporting our clients in achieving environmental sustainability goals.”
Derrick York, general manager of Caterpillar Marine, added: “Combining Caterpillar’s more than 80 years of marine experience with a new future-proof approach and a refreshed product range shows our full commitment to our pleasure craft and yachting customers, the upcoming trends, and future challenge in this segment.”
