To break loose a log jam of inaction on the planned Lake Zumbro sediment dredging project, Olmsted County could be asked to put forward upwards of $2 million in project funding, to be paid back by other project partners later.
Olmsted County planned to partner with Rochester Public Utilities, Wabasha County, the Lake Improvement District and a private fundraising group to come up with $3.5 million in local funding. The state of Minnesota has pledged another $3.5 million in bonding.
