US carbon capture company CarbonPoint Solutions has been acquired by construction manufacturing giant Caterpillar.
Caterpillar added the company, also known by its group-name Enhanced Energy Group, to its portfolio to help reach the company’s climate goals, according to Rod Shurman, Vice President, Oil & Gas and Marine Division, Caterpillar.
He added, “Combining CarbonPoint Solutions’ patented technology with Caterpillar Oil & Gas solutions enables us to further reduce greenhouse gas emission while helping our customers meet their climate related objectives.”
The Rhode Island-based CarbonPoint Solutions works to provide carbon capture solutions to the energy industry, in addition to utilisation and/or storage.
Paul Dunn, President, Founder, CarbonPoint Solutions said that the company is looking forward to the rapid deployment of the carbon capture techniques for Caterpillar engines.
