AW Maritime has been engaged by TasPorts to provide specialist consultancy services to assist with planning and delivering its dredging works program. As part of this engagement we have recently worked with the TasPorts staff to manage the widening of a berth pocket to Berth 4 in Burnie Port on the North West Tasmanian coast. The project was delivered as part of a larger program of works within TasPorts’ Port Master Plan to accommodate larger Bass Strait container and cargo vessels which are due to arrive early in 2019. The Heron Construction Co. Ltd were the contractors for the dredging works which were completed almost two months ahead of schedule.
