Brevard County is soliciting licensed and qualified marine contractors to dredge (hydraulic only), dewater, and dispose of approximately 182,972 cubic yards of organic sediments (muck) from approximately 86 acres of the Eau Gallie Area A1/NE Muck Removal Project. The dredge area is located on the east coast of Brevard County, Florida, north of County Road 518 (Eau Gallie Causeway). A temporary dewatering facility is available at the Florida Inland Navigation District (FIND) DMMA BV-52 located approximately 6 miles south of the dredge template area. This project is part of Brevard County’s Save Our Indian River Lagoon program aimed to improve water quality and habitat by removing this accumulation of muck which harms marine life and releases stored nutrients (nitrogen and phosphorus) that can trigger algal blooms.
