Commerce Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary has announced the commencement of dredging for Brahmaputra. In a recent press conference h said, “Barak Valley dredging has started and is likely to be completed by July. The dredging for Brahmaputra will formally begin after Advantage Assam.” The government also announced that they have access up to Chittagong port in Bangladesh where dredging can be done.
Accusing the Congress government of laid back attitude during their governance in Assam, he said, “During their tenure, the Congress government did not do anything to develop the industrial infrastructure in the State. Instead, they just constructed a few buildings, which are not useful.”
