𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗲…
The Manta in Malta. The short phrase almost guarantees a tongue twister. However, aside from their almost identical name, our powerful anchor handling tug Manta and the European island of Malta have little in common. Although, every now and then, our Manta sets sail to the port of the Maltese capital, Valetta, to pick up or deliver a cargo. That is also precisely why our vessel is in Valetta. A few weeks ago, the Manta departed from Ivory Coast to deliver an accommodation barge to the island. A nice, long sea voyage with an impressive cargo on a more than 1,000-meter-long tow wire. The considerable length of the heavy tow wire was necessary due to potential high waves in the Atlantic Ocean, which could cause the tow wire to endure repeated impacts.
We thank the crew of the Manta for yet another successful and safe transport.
