Posted on July 19, 2016

IHS Markit (Nasdaq: INFO), a world leader in critical information, analytics and solutions, today announced Boskalis and DEME as key sponsors for DPC Innovation Awards 2016, an inaugural event organized by IHS Dredging and Port Construction Magazine, scheduled to take place at the Marriott Hotel, Grosvenor Square, Mayfair, London on 10 November 2016.

IHS Dredging and Port Construction, an IHS Maritime & Trade publication, serves the global community of marine civil engineers, reporting on major port construction projects worldwide, dredging activities, new technologies and equipment innovations for over 40 years.

The DPC Innovation Awards programme will consist of 13 award categories looking to recognize and honour the most innovative and forward-thinking projects and individuals in the dredging and port construction sectors. As established innovators in the dredging sectors, Boskalis and DEME will support the DPC event as category sponsors and award presenters during a prize-giving dinner ceremony in London.

Boskalis, a leading global services provider operating in the dredging, maritime infrastructure and maritime services sectors, are confirmed as event sponsors.

“Research and development is essential to Boskalis,” said Diana van Minnen, Senior Communications Advisor. “We continuously invest in the development of new methods and cutting-edge technology to increase the efficiency, effectiveness and environmental sustainability of activities. Supporting the DPC Innovation Awards shows our commitment to the latest innovations and our continued support for the dredging industry.”

DEME, established as a holding company of two leading Belgian dredging contractors Dredging International and Baggerwerken Decloedt, are confirmed category sponsors for “Innovation in Dredger Design” and “Innovation in Dredging Equipment”.

“A strong focus on innovation is a key part of our corporate strategy and this has kept us at the forefront of the maritime industry,” said Lieven Durt, Communications Director. “Supporting the DPC Awards is a great way to encourage more innovation in a sector that needs to become more effective, cost efficient and environmentally friendly. CO2 reduced energy consumption and lower CO2 emissions are part of the DEME Group’s corporate objectives. In that respect DEME is not afraid to move beyond compliance and set new standards for the industry by introducing for example dual fuel (LNG) engines in its latest vessels.”
