With an impressive fleet of anchor handling and oceangoing tugs, our Marine Services business unit is an all-round maritime service provider. This was demonstrated once again off the coast of Côte d’Ivoire where a 403-meter-long FPSO needed not only to be disconnected from its eight mooring lines but also to be towed to a dry dock in Dubai. In Dubai, the FPSO will undergo an extensive overhaul before returning to service off the coast of Côte d’Ivoire for at least another decade.
With our powerful vessels Manta, BOKA Expedition, BOKA Forward, and BOKA Falcon, Boskalis delivered a true “all in one” service. While the Manta, BOKA Expedition, and BOKA Forward kept the FPSO in the correct position, the BOKA Falcon, using its 150-ton crane, disconnected the mooring lines. These chains were then left on the seabed, ready to be retrieved when the FPSO returns to Côte d’Ivoire in 2026.
Meanwhile, the transport to Dubai has also been successfully completed by our BOKA Expedition and BOKA Forward, paving the way for the refurbishment process to begin. After this overhaul, we will also take care of the return trip and installation. As mentioned, a full-service package from start to finish.
We would like to thank the crews of our vessels, the project team, and our client MODEC for the excellent cooperation during this project. We look forward to future projects.
