𝟲 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘀, 𝟱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀
Unique vessels are in high demand in the maritime sector, and that is also the case for our BOKA Vanguard. With its unique features, including an open bow and stern, the BOKA Vanguard is capable of transporting huge cargoes around the world no other vessel is capable of doing.
Currently, another dry dock is resting on the deck of the BOKA Vanguard, the world’s largest semi-submersible heavy transport vessel. This time, it is transporting a 254-meter-long and 54-meter-wide floating dry dock. Managed with precision by Kuehne+Nagel, this impressive General Dynamics NASSCO dock is en route to its new home at the NASSCO shipyard in San Diego, California.
This will make it the fifth continent for the vessel in just six months. Because in February, the BOKA Vanguard loaded a dry dock in Asia for transport through African waters towards Turkey, then loaded this floating dry dock and is currently on the way transporting the dock through the Mediterranean Sea in Europe, the Atlantic Ocean and the Strait of Magellan at the southern tip of South America, towards the North American west coast.
We wish the crew of the BOKA Vanguard a safe voyage during this long sea transport.
