LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. — The Indiana Department of Natural Resources announced public access to Hudson Lake in La Porte County will be disrupted from mid-October through the end of the year due to a dredging project.
DNR officials say the work is aimed at improving boating access.
The work is funded by the DNR’s Lake and River Enhancement Program (LARE) and the Hudson Lake Conservation Association.
Officials say sediment will be hydraulically pumped from the access channel and a navigation channel between the lake’s east and west basins to an upland area on the northwest end of the lake.
DNR officials say there may be temporary blockages or restrictions near the sites due to dredging equipment or piping on the lake.
