This Week’s Progress (September 20 – 26)
- Marinex began pumping sand onto the Pine Island beach in Hilton Head Plantation.
- Marinex successfully installed 33,500 feet of submerged pipeline from Pine Island to the Baypoint Shoals sand source. They expect to add over 194,600 cubic yards of sand for this segment of the project.
- The entire beach at Pine Island will be closed during sand placement work. The public is advised to pay attention to caution signs.
- Weather Alert: The Marinex Construction crew is closely monitoring offshore storm activity and will adjust the schedule as needed in the coming days.
Looking Ahead (September 27 – October 3)
- The Marinex crew will continue to pump sand onto the Pine Island beach. The work is expected to last approximately two weeks, depending on weather conditions.
- Once the new sand has settled at Fish Haul Beach and Pine Island, crews will be back during the week of Oct. 6 to till the new sand. The beaches will remain open while this final touch is completed.
