Battle & Sands Energy Corporation is hiring for multiple positions at its new frac sand mining and processing facility in Northern Bee County, marking a significant opportunity for local job seekers. The Houston-based company expects to employ approximately 20 workers by mid-February and aims to grow to 80 employees as operations expand.
The company is partnering with Texas Workforce Solutions to help recruit local talent.
“In the next few weeks, we’re going to begin a series of job fairs through Texas Workforce Solutions,” Bee Area Partnership CEO Randy Seitz said. “Texas Workforce Solutions is currently creating job descriptions and links on their website for people to fill out an application.”
Chief Operating Officer Paul DeVille emphasized the company’s commitment to creating a respectful and collaborative workplace.
“… from the person shoveling sand to the president of the company, you’re going to respect them,” DeVille said. “We expect our employees to work hard, handle challenges professionally, and treat one another with respect.”
The facility will initially operate on a 12-hour rotational shift schedule, with daylight operations at its drying facility due to current equipment and electrical limitations. DeVille said that the company prioritizes hiring individuals with mechanical skills, such as those who have worked on farms or with vehicles, but experience in the sand industry is not required.
“If someone has a good work ethic and is willing to learn, we can teach them the rest,” DeVille explained. “This is hard work, but we’re offering opportunities for growth and upward mobility.”
Available roles include a Production Lead Supervisor, responsible for managing daily operations and compliance, a Lead Operator focused on optimizing plant efficiency, and a Field Operator tasked with equipment monitoring and maintenance. All positions require the ability to work 12-hour shifts and prioritize safety and operational excellence.
The new facility is part of Battle & Sands’ ongoing growth strategy, supporting the oil and gas industry with premium frac sand while contributing to the local economy through job creation.
