Bahrain’s Riyada Group and India’s DCI Sign MOU for Business Cooperation

Dredging Corporation of India and Riyada Group-Bahrain signs MOU in the city of Manama, Bahrain for business cooperation in dredging and allied services

Visakhapatnam, Manama, November 29,2016: Dredging Corporation of India Limited (DCI), Government of India undertaking, a premier public sector dredging company, and Riyada Group of Companies, Kingdom of Bahrain, has signed a Business cooperation Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for mutual cooperation with a view to expand further opportunities and expand operations in Gulf cooperation council countries and Middle East countries.

The MoU was signed by Shri Rajesh Tripathi – Chairman & Managing Director of DCI and Her Highness Shaikha Dheya bint Ebrahim Al Khalifa – President of Riyada Group at city of Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain.

Riyada group, one of the leading companies in the Middle East with holdings in diversified sectors and joint ventures with numerous renowned international companies. President of Riyada Group, Her Highness Shaikha Dheya commented, “We believe that DCI is a reliable and competent partner that would add value to the completion targets of the various land reclamation, dredging and ports maintenance and developments projects in our region”.

DCI has successfully carried out land reclamation work in Bahrain in the year 2004-2005 & 2005-2006, maintenance & capital dredging works as well as land reclamation works of all major ports in India, Sri Lanka and Taiwan, since its inception in the year 1976. DCI owns state of the art equipments which include 12 Trailer Suction Hopper Dredgers (TSHDs), three Cutter Suction Dredgers (CSDs), three Survey launches fitted with latest survey equipment, one Inland Cutter Suction Dredger and one High power backhoe dredger.

The Business cooperation MOU was inked in order that DCI could project its capabilities and expertise in the areas of dredging & reclamation to the prospective market in the Middle East region. The deal also facilitates utilisation of equipment of each other for execution of various projects like Capital Dredging, Maintenance Dredging, Breakwater, Revetments and Rock works, Land Reclamation, Sustainable Profitable ventures on PPP route on Infrastructure projects.
