Speaker Information FAQ
All presenters: Please review the following information on the National Coastal Conference presentation procedures and FAQ.
Land Acknowledgement
A land acknowledgement is a simple, powerful way of showing respect and a step toward correcting the stories and practices that erase Indigenous people’s history and culture and toward inviting and honoring the truth. To offer recognition and respect.
The acknowledgement: We recognize and acknowledge the First People of this ancestral and unceded territory – the land that today we call Los Angeles County. With respect to their elders, past and present, we recognize the Tongva, Tataviam, Chumash, Kizh and Serrano, as the original stewards of this land and who continue to lift up their stories and culture.
