EMERALD ISLE, Carteret County — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers plans to begin sidecast dredging in Bogue Inlet on August 8. The work is expected to take place over a two-week period and will result in the shifting of navigation aids to a more central location in the inlet.
This maintenance dredging is being funded entirely by federal appropriations from Congress designated for this purpose.
