Plans to dredge the Lake Worth Inlet and dump sand onto North End beaches — plans that were in limbo this summer — are moving forward after the United States Army Corps of Engineers changed its view on the cost of sand placement.
It’s a win-win for the town as it will not have to help pay for the estimated $5.5 million dredge project, or spend possibly thousands for the Corps to place the sand on the dry beach instead of in the nearshore waters.
