Ajman Port to witness infrastructure upgrade via AED 1bn agreement

UAE – Mubasher: The Department of Port and Customs Ajman (DPC) inked a joint deal valued at AED 1 billion with Hutchison Ports to expand and develop Ajman Port’s infrastructure.

Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, witnessed the signing of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the two entities, Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.

The two parties will outline a development plan for Ajman Port per the best global practices to enhance handling efficiency and attract new shipping lines

They will also launch AI-powered programs for port operation by deploying a 15-year plan aimed at managing, operating, and developing the port, reinforcing its position as a vital logistics hub in the region.

Al Nuaimi stated: “The Emirate of Ajman enjoys a developed and attractive investment environment, supported by a continuously evolving business ecosystem and the opening of new horizons for local and foreign investment.”

“We believe that port development is an investment in the future of trade, food security, and economic growth,” he added.
