Contractors have submitted letters to Adnoc Sour Gas expressing their interest in three packages that form part of the UAE’s project to develop the Hail and Ghasha sour gas fields.
Letters were submitted ahead of the deadline on 20 May, according to industry sources, as Adnoc prepares to tender three engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) packages as part of the $15bn Hail and Ghasha megaproject.
The three packages are:
•Package 2: Ghasha offshore processing plant (GOP) and central living quarters
•Package 3: Manayif utilities and offsites, pipelines and tie-ins, main control building, early works and non-process buildings (onshore)
•Package 4: Manayif process plant (onshore)
Currently, the project is in the front end engineering design (feed) phase.
French design company Artelia is carrying out detailed engineering work for the artificial islands, while US-based Bechtel is carrying out feed for all other facilities associated with the project.
Houston’s KBR is carrying out the project management consultancy (PMC) work for the feed phase of the project.
The project aims to produce a billion cubic feet a day of sour gas and associated condensate from the offshore Hail and Ghasha fields.
Other packages that form part of the project are:
•Package 0: Offshore infrastructure and early offshore works
•Package 1: Offshore drill centres, subsea pipelines, platforms for compression facilities
Adnoc has invited companies to bid by 12 July for the offshore works. The companies that have prequalified to bid for the contract that involves dredging and rockwork are:
•Archirodon (Greece)
•Dredging International (Belgium)
•Hyundai Engineering & Construction (South Korea)
•Jan De Nul (Belgium)
•National Marine Dredging Company (local)
•Royal Boskalis Westminster (Netherlands)
•Six Construct Abu Dhabi (local/Belgium)
•Van Oord (Netherlands)
