The shore protection project initiated in Kunburudhoo island of Alif Dhaal atoll is well underway.
The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) revealed this via Twitter on Sunday.
As such, providing the latest updates of the Kunburudhoo shore protection project to the public, MTCC revealed that the first shipment of rock boulders required for the project has been delivered to the project site.
Currently, MTCC is working on the dredging and reclamation operations.
The dredging and reclamation operations’ component of the project is currently at 65 percent progress.
Under the scope of the project MTCC is required to conduct dredging and reclamation operations in an area measuring 24,000 cubic meters.
Further, the construction of a rock boulder revetment measuring 430 meters and a geotube revetment measuring 185 meters are also included under the scope of the project.
MTCC will also be conducting beach replenishment operations in an area measuring 7,171 cubic meters.
The project is valued at MVR 21.2 million.
