A new chapter begins at Vard Shipyards Romania – Tulcea.
The first steel is cut for NB 996, one of two tailor-made VARD 4 19 Commissioning Service Operation Vessels designed and built by VARD for UPO, the joint venture between 裕民風能航運股份有限公司 U-Ming Marine Offshore and Purus.
The 88-metre hybrid vessel is optimized for Taiwan’s offshore wind conditions – combining efficiency, operability, and crew comfort in one versatile platform. This project showcases the strength of VARD’s integrated value chain, bringing together design, engineering, construction, and technology integration across our global network – from Ålesund to Tulcea and beyond.
